Satuckett Lane is a street of Ranlett Grove in South Billerica, running east from the old Riverside Road, now Quaker Lane, past Mirror Road to Solar Road. Its western part was laid out on the plan "Ranlett Grove on Shore of Concord River, Billerica Mass.," drawn in May 1909 by Ernest W. Branch, civil engineer, for Atwood and Pattee, auctioneers and real estate dealers of 27 School Street, Boston, and recorded on Aug. 7, 1909 (Plan Book 26, Plan 47). On the plan Satuckett Lane leaves Riverside Road and runs inland between rows of lots numbered 87 to 96, with Robin's Lane, never built, parallel to it on the west. The lots were sold from August 1909 by Eugene A. Stowell, trustee under the will of Charles A. Ranlett.
Satuckett is one of the plan's Native American names, with Ossamequin Road and Osceola Lane. Satucket was the native name of the land at Bridgewater, in Plymouth County, that Ousamequin, the Wampanoag sachem also called Massasoit, sold to the Plymouth colonists in 1649; Ossamequin Road on the same plan carries his name. The plan itself does not explain the choice.
For sixty years only the short western part existed. When the inland part of the Ranlett land was divided for houses about 1970, the lane was carried east past Mirror Road to Solar Road, fifty feet wide, on Land Court Plan 2792-T, a subdivision plan by George H. Poor, surveyor, of November 1967, registered on June 5, 1970; the oldest houses on the extension date from 1973 and 1974. At the annual town meeting on May 13, 1976, under Article 37, the town voted "to accept the laying out of SATUCKETT LANE from Solar Road to beyond Mirror Road in accordance with a plan on file with the Town Clerk, a way 50 feet wide and 884 feet long." It was among the town's drainage projects that year, was sewered with the rest of Ranlett Grove in 1995 and 1996, and was crack sealed in 2015 and 2019. Satuckett Lane is not among the roads of the 1831 town map accepted in October 2016.
